AAUP-NetGalley Discount Program

netgalley logoIn June 2010, AAUP was pleased to announce a benefit for our member presses in partnership with NetGalley, a website where publishers can share digital galleys and press kits with professional readers. AAUP members receive an additional 10% discount on the monthly fees for NetGalley. The cost of NetGalley for an AAUP member publisher will depend on the number of titles hosted on the site each month.

NetGalley offers the real-time transmission of digital galleys and multimedia press kits. Publishers can also allow readers to request a printed galley. A major benefit of the program is the opportunity for readers to download secure, searchable, full-color digital galleys to their desktop or to devices such as the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, or Kobo eReader. In addition to inviting existing contacts to view galleys, publishers can also choose to list their titles in NetGalley’s catalog and approve requests from NetGalley members. NetGalley offers a broad range of marketing programs to reach qualified readers via email, social networking, in online trade advertising, and at industry events.

NetGalley is pleased to offer AAUP publishers online tours of the site at any time. An introductory presentation for AAUP members (originally presented on July 21, 2011) is available to review online. To request a personal demo, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . During the tour, NetGalley representatives will share practical information about how the tool works, as well as examples of how other publishers are using NetGalley as an integrated component of their marketing, publicity, and sales plans for new titles.

NetGalley is part of Firebrand Technologies, a publishing technology company that provides steadfast leadership and seamless information flow throughout the publishing process.
