Increased focus on advocacy was identified as press directors' number one priority for AAUP two years in a row. Proactively articulating the value of university presses to all of our stakeholders is a joint responsibility of the AAUP and individual presses. To help, AAUP is organizing the following session.

How can you get the attention—and support—of key decision makers? How can you demonstrate your value and position your press as an important contributor to your institution's mission, vision, and goals? The University of Utah's Melanie Hawks will facilitate a session to help you choose the influencing approaches that are most likely to resonate with your partners and stakeholders. During this interactive session, you will learn how to develop a communication strategy, tailor your message to different audiences, and deliver a clear call to action. You can expect to leave with a preliminary plan for influencing at least one person or group on an issue of your choosing.

Registration for this workshop is limited to Directors of AAUP Member presses. There is no charge to attend, but advance registration is required. Register here >
