Thomas Eykemans, Designer, University of Washington Press, submitted the winning design in our University Press Week logo design contest. The clean and elegant text is befitting our community's tradition of excellence in design. The interconnected series of seven page spreads, inspired by a shaft of wheat, brings to mind the growth and bounty of university press work in society, and includes echoes of our networked present and the spirit of flight that will take us into the future.

Eykemans' design was selected by the Unversity Press Week Task Force from a strong field of 38 entries, representing the deep pool of talent found in the AAUP community. We thank all of the entrants for the thoughtfulness and skill on display.

The winning designer, along with a colleague from Washington, have received complementary registrations to the AAUP 2012 Annual Meeting in Chicago. We look forward to welcoming them and celebrating the lasting mark devised for our annual University Press Week campaign.
