AAUP Launches Redesigned and Enhanced Website

May 30, 2011—The Association of American University Presses is very pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned website at www.aaupnet.org.

This has been a major initiative of the association through 2010-2011 and the new site launches just in time for our 2011 Annual Meeting, convening in Baltimore June 2-5.

We aim for AAUPnet.org to be a recognized source of information for and about scholarly publishers and scholarly communications to important AAUP constituencies: publishers, libraries, policy-makers and scholars. The new AAUPnet.org is also designed to better serve member presses as a locus for association programmatic activities and professional education resources.

A few features of note:

* News from the Membership: Prize-winning books, personnel announcements, information on innovative collaborative and digital projects are presented on the new AAUP site.

* AAUP Member Search-beta: Search for university press publications through this fun new feature! We've put together a Google Custom Search Engine optimized to search the online catalog pages of our member publishers.

* Policy Areas: Find news and information about policy areas of importance to the AAUP community, including the extensive Copyright and Permissions resources compiled by the AAUP Copyright Committee.

* Books for Understanding: Our popular current events bibliographic resource was moved to its own domain in advance of the AAUP site relaunch. You'll find that online service at http://www.booksforunderstanding.org/

Please enjoy exploring the new and expanding content of www.aaupnet.org. Please feel free to contact AAUP ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) if you have any questions or comments.
