AAUP Joined by Major Scholarly Societies MLA and AHA in Support of LSU Press

May 28, 2009: In Louisiana there is now a danger that cuts to the state higher education budget might endanger the very existence of the Louisiana State University Press. The internationally renowned LSU Press has been a jewel in the crown of LSU, and scholarly publishing, for 75 years. With stellar lists in Southern history, Louisiana culture, and award-winning fiction and poetry amongst other fields, the Press has an irreplaceable reputation in scholarship. Scholars, writers, readers, and publishers from around Louisiana, the nation, and the world have been sending letters of support for the Press to Louisiana Governor Jindal and LSU administration.
