Rice University Press is Closed

A Digital Experiment is Wrapped Up at Rice University

AAUP Statement on the Closure of Rice University Press

August 20, 2010: The Association of American University Presses was disappointed to learn of the decision to close the recently revitalized Rice University Press. We are sad to see the end of such a bold experiment in subsidized digital publishing. Digital technologies, formats, and delivery platforms are a growing part of every university press's endeavors, and we are grateful for all that the scholarly publishing community has learned from the Rice model.
