If you plan to arrive prior to June 14, the Hilton and most other reasonably priced downtown hotels are sold out for the nights of June 12 and 13. Listed below are two hotels within a few miles of the Hilton that appear to have space available on those nights. Please note that AAUP has no agreements with either hotel.

Travel Information

Travel by Car

The Hilton Minneapolis is located at 1001 Marquette Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403-2440. Self-parking is available at the Hilton for $12 daily. On weekends, street parking is free in Minneapolis.

Travel by Air

The Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is served by most major airlines.

Ground Transportation from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport to Downtown Minneapolis

Taxi
Taxis to downtown Minneapolis are available at the airport. Downtown Minneapolis is approximately 16 miles from the airport and fares should be between $28.00-$36.00.

Airport Shuttle
The SuperShuttle takes passengers from the airport to most downtown hotels including the Hilton. The fare is $15 one way or $26 round trip. Please note prices may change by the time of the AAUP meeting. Reservations are recommended.

The shuttle picks up at the Hilton at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour from 4:55 am to 4:55 pm. Reservations are required for after-hours pick-ups.

Light Rail
The Hiawatha Light Rail runs from the Lindbergh Terminal at the airport to downtown Minneapolis. Trains depart from the airport every 7 or 8 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. Travel time from airport to downtown is about 30 minutes. Fares are $1.50 (non-rush hour) or $2.00 (rush hour: weekdays 6-9 am and 3-6:30 pm).

The Nicollet Mall stop is nearest to the Hilton. It is located about 5 blocks from the hotel.
