Course Adoptions

The Course Adoption Catalogs are one method that publishers may use to inform professors and instructors about books that may be appropriate for their college and graduate-level classes. Individual presses may also produce their own subject-specific catalogs, email newsletters, or offer special online review materials. Contact information and web links for AAUP member publishers can be found in our online directory.

Publishers' policies for providing examination and desk copies may vary. Please consult the publisher's individual flyer within an AAUP Catalog, or visit the publisher online to learn how to request examination or desk copies of desired titles.

The AAUP Course Adoption Catalog Program

Ideal for presses that hope to sell course books in a given discipline but may not have the resources to produce subject catalogs of their own, this service provides members with a cooperative entrée to the course adoption market. Twice a year, AAUP course adoption catalogs are produced and mailed to about 7,000 professors and instructors throughout the United States. Member presses may purchase space in any catalog for a flat fee per page. Contact Rachel Weiss-Feldman to learn more about participating in the AAUP Course Adoption Catalog Program.
