AAUP BOOK, JACKET, AND JOURNAL SHOW

Since 1965, the AAUP Book, Jacket, and Journal Show has fulfilled its mission to “honor and instruct”: honoring the design and production teams whose work furthers a long tradition of excellence in book design, and — through a traveling exhibit and acclaimed annual catalog of selected entries — visually teaching the tenets of good design. This competition is open to member press publishers only.

2010 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show

Entries are now being accepted for the 2010 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show. The deadline for entries is January 22, 2010.

2009 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show

Selected Entries have now been announced for the 2009 design show. Ninety books, journals, jackets, and covers were selected by jurors as the finest current examples of design from scholarly presses.

The 2009 show premiered at the 2009 AAUP Annual Meeting, June 18-21, in Philadelphia.

2009 Selected Entries

In September, the 2009 Book, Jacket, and Journal Show will begin traveling to 34 presses across the US and Canada. The selected entries will be exhibited for 2-week periods on the campuses.

Show Catalog
Book, Jacket, and Journal Show catalogs are available for purchase at $20, including postage ($25 outside the U.S.) Catalogs from the 2008 show and back (when available) are $10.00 ($15.00 outside the U.S.). Payment can be made by check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover.
