Academic Library Marketing Survey

In 2008, the AAUP Marketing Committee canvassed academic librarians to discover how they use publishers' catalogs, mailers, and other marketing materials to inform collections decisions. The survey also collected data on book purchasing budget share, libraries' book sourcing strategies (wholesalers, distributors, other channels), and librarians' views of the future of book acquisition. The survey was completed by 435 librarians, from a wide cross-section of academic institutions.
