Subscription Sales Representative


SUBSCRIPTION SALES REPRESENTATIVE, INSTITUTIONAL MARKET MIT Press, to be responsible for selling new and existing online subscription products to the academic library, school, and corporate markets. The products include digital collections, journal subscriptions, and e-books. Responsibilities include maintaining and further developing relationships with existing customers; targeting new business through research, networking, and cold calling; responding to a high volume of daily email and telephone customer/internal queries; preparing quotes, negotiating pricing, and providing follow-up through all stages of the sale; training and demoing products remotely via WebEx or Skype; the daily use of internal software for tracking, e.g., RedLink and other tools for usage and other data related to institutional subscriptions; and collaborating with internal stakeholders.  The MIT Press is a leader in university press publishing with a global academic reputation for publishing content that advances scientific and technological discourse.

REQUIRED:  at least three years of experience in publishing, digital sales, or related field such as marketing or library science; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize and work both independently and within a team-oriented environment; and facility with Microsoft products and learning new technologies. Bachelor's degree preferred.
