Marketing Department Assistant

Description

This position reports to the Marketing Director and offers support to all members of the marketing department. Responsibilities include:

Assists the Marketing Director, Publicity Director, and Sales Manager with day-to-day clerical and other tasks as needed. 

Traffics critical documents and other items throughout the department and the wider press.

Manages the Author’s Questionnaire process, including requesting, following up, receiving, distributing, and filing in PW all AQs, author photos, and other supporting materials.

Handles the compilation and distribution of title Marketing Roundups.

Inputs and maintains accurate book information in company-wide Filemaker database. 

Additional duties as needed:

·         Assists with publicity-related duties, including author events, review copy and galley mailings, weekly publicity announcements, review processing, events roll for the website, etc. 

·         Produces promotional material and helps with exhibit preparation. 

·         Compiles mailing lists, produces simple collateral materials, and handles mailings. 

·         Maintains and distributes spreadsheets and reports regarding sales efforts.

·         Performs market research and collects information and statistics on ad hoc sales projects.

·         Monitors monthly low-stock report, text reports, and weekly orders report for possible restocks.

·         Produces and distributes restock, POD, and OP memos.

·         Performs related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

·         College degree with minimum one-year experience preferred.

·         STRONG Computer skills in MS Office: Word, Excel required.

·         Must be well organized, highly motivated, flexible and able to work independently.
